    The Sr. Benefits Specialist will be a part of the US Compensation & Benefits Team and is responsible for managing all the activities for assigned programs in the health and welfare, wellness, retirement, and wealth accumulation areas.  Responsibilities include assisting with the management of vendor performance and customer service, managing and analyzing data to make improvements in the processes and components of benefits, ensuring the compliance of all benefit programs and managing the flow of data from Workday to the vendors, ADP and back.

    Manages all aspects of the activities for US benefit programs.  Assists with communication of Plans and programs, vendor performance, Workday and vendor system set up and testing and prepares newly eligible and new hire promotion and orientation materials.  Leads quarterly ESPP enrollment in Workday from start to finish and EXDC and EXPP annual with Fidelity.  Assists with the preparation of education materials and assists with educating Managers, HR and Contact HR on changes ahead of enrollments.  Manages the timing of open enrollment activities in Workday.  Manages all PSW reports, errors and corrections for all Fidelity plans.


    Leads annual open enrollments.  Assists with the management of  the publication and communication aspects of enrollments and benefit events throughout the year using multimodal communication channels.  Assists with the creation of and conducts manager, HR and employee information presentations and prepares materials for new hire enrollments.  Assists in the preparation of the documentation related to the Summary Plan Descriptions and distributes SARs as appropriate.


    Monitors questions and vendor performance during open enrollments and throughout the year and recommends process improvements, communications, FAQs and training as necessary.  Assists with preparing and leading the bi-annual vendor summit.


    Consults with the US HR staff and Global Business Services (GBS) regarding tier 2 benefits. Provides ongoing education and training for GBS and checks competencies on an annual basis and as new hires are assimilated.


    Participates in the management of our various vendors by reviewing customer questions and results of the quarterly and annual performance guarantees. Seeks feedback at the end of open enrollment periods and periodically to recommend improvements for future open enrollment programs and for programs overall. 


    Manages various Benefit data requirements with Vendors and HRIS. Updates the Workday Benefits Module as necessary and initiates and monitors open enrollment and new hire activities in Workday, Benefits data and Workday integration reports and required forms..  Makes recommendations to improve the Workday business process and Workday-to-vendor eligibility files and reports in order to ensure smooth work flows.  Tests all changes.  Monitors all integration reports to ensure feeds going to and from Workday and to ADP are completed successfully and errors are identified and corrected.


    Manages various compliance activities and programs as assigned including but not limited to Equifax system, 5500’s, Non Discrimination Testing and 401k True up, and distribution of SARs.  Ensures all PCORI and transitional insurance fees are filed and paid on time. Serves as escalation point for findings during quarterly benefits financial audits.


    Checks invoices for suitability and accuracy before sending to finance and ensures timely payment of all invoices. 


    Uses discretionary judgment in the review of rejected or pended claims and coordinates their resolution to the satisfaction of employee/subscriber.  Brings legal and compliance issues and appeals to the Director of Benefits attention.   


    Benefits subject matter expert on disability and leave management providing guidance on new policies and ensures compliance with state and local leave regulations.   Assists with implementing changes to policies and processes and supports GBS, HR and vendor with escalated issues.


    Serve as data analytics expert in support of Global and US Compensation projects participating on cross-functional workstreams and teams.


    Support compensation account manager for US Commercial, and Global functions: corporate functions, operations, R&D and marketing. Responsibilities include job grading, data audits and corrections, creation of analytics tools and identify/create compensation process improvements.


    Provide analytical support for annual merit/bonus process – creating reporting dashboards for HRLT, and assisting project manager with execution of project planning.


    Serves as escalation point for US HR staff and GBS regarding tier 2 and 3 compensation escalations.


    Support US executive benefit programs including eligibility, plan documentation, compliance, audits, and programming in Workday.


    Global COE support where needed – survey submissions, data analysis/cleanup, etc.






    Bachelor’s degree


    Fully knowledgeable and proficient in own discipline and acts as a resource to colleagues with less experience


    5 – 8 years US benefits and compensation experience



    Proficient in excel and other Microsoft office products
