    If you have a strong balance of analytical ability and strategic thinking, this is the opportunity for you.  We are looking for a seasoned compensation professional to support multiple businesses at Workday, and partner with the rest of the Compensation team to help define and execute on our compensation strategy on a global basis. 

    Typical responsibilities include:

    • Assist in the creation of the annual compensation strategy and philosophy that drives the development and positioning of compensation programs
    • Develop cost models, forecast analyses and plan design recommendations on a variety of global compensation programs, budgets and tools, including, but not limited to, base pay structures, retention, annual merit programs, and short and long-term incentive plans
    • Partner with the Sales Operations and Finance teams to ensure the compensation structure aligns with business priorities  
    • Advise leaders with compensation recommendations for new hires, promotions, transfers, job matches, job leveling, and job families
    • Consult and advise managers and HR Business Partners on all compensation related questions
    • Develop and deliver global compensation training and communication for leaders and employees
    • Develop and analyze global base pay market positioning and salary ranges to ensure market competitiveness and support of overall compensation strategy
    • Participate in the global salary survey submittal and receipt process
    • Participate in the annual compensation benchmarking process and develop ranges and structures
    • Create new jobs and ranges as needed to support hiring needs
    • Analyze market data and develop annual salary increase budgets by geography and partner with finance team to ensure appropriate accruals
    • Collaborate with HR Business Partners and management to resolve compensation issues
    • Provide market data and analysis for new positions in new locations

    About You

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to build a network to work across teams to achieve business goals
    • Analytical thinker with strong problem solving skills with the ability to understand and communicate the meaning of the data being presented
    • Proven ability to adapt and work effectively in a matrix organization to develop solutions that benefits the business and customer
    • Strong project management and organizational skills
    • Advanced proficiency with excel, word and power point
    • Required Experience: 
    • 8 years’ experience in compensation market analysis, plan design and administration
    • Demonstrated understanding of compensation structures for commissioned employees
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field (ideally with Human Resource, compensation, benefits and/or organizational development concentration).
    • Advanced proficiency with excel, word and power point
    • Experience using the Workday HCM strongly preferred

    Workday is located in Pleasanton, CA. This position is available for relocation or remote work.
